
José Luis Jiménez Barrera, a Global Business student, was inaugurated as the president of the University Chapter of the Confederation of Employers of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) at Ibero-American University. During the inauguration ceremony held on October 23, Jiménez Barrera expressed his commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening leadership among new generations.
In his inaugural speech, José Luis emphasized the need to drive a socioeconomic change in Mexico and outlined his goals as a leader of Coparmex-Ibero. "I want to foster leadership because I believe it's something this generation needs," he stated, aiming for the actions taken to positively impact society as a whole. Adal Ortiz Ávalos, president of Coparmex CDMX, was responsible for formalizing the appointment.
The board of the Coparmex-Ibero University Chapter will include Bernardo Olmedo García as Vice President of Operations, Lorena Alférez as Vice President of Public Relations, and Daniela Gracida Valdepeña as Vice President of Social Networks. Each of them expressed their goals and purposes within this new stage.
Bernardo Olmedo García, an Accounting student, will focus on promoting partnerships with established entrepreneurs to open new opportunities for young entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, Lorena Alférez proposed the creation of mentorship programs and facilitating the transition of students to the workforce. Daniela Gracida Valdepeña, a student of Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design, highlighted the importance of initiative and the willingness to learn from the business world.
At the end of the ceremony, Adal Ortiz Ávalos emphasized the challenge that 20-year-old José Luis Jiménez Barrera assumes as president of the University Chapter, encouraging him not to fear making mistakes as they represent invaluable experience. "Ask everything and make mistakes," advised José Luis Jiménez Enríquez.
